Aspiration
"Making the right decision
starts with having the right informatin"
Why call Aspiration “non-surgical”?
It is inaccurate and misleading to say that Aspiration is a “non-surgical”
procedure. This option is available at DrEmily's, but we
urge our patients to
get all the information before choosing this route.
Ask questions before selecting a facility and procedure:
1. Is the doctor a specialist trained in gynecology and
using state-of-the-art
electronic equipment?
2. Is the doctor a generalist with inexpensive manual tubes
and no
training with sophisticated equipment?
3. Does the facility have the resources to offer more sophisticated
solutions
or is this the "only show in town"?
Is Aspiration painful?
Yes. Usually the pain lasts a short time, but women often call
it unbearable.
How can I avoid pain?
The only way to avoid pain is with the simple expedient of being
completely
asleep under a trained anesthesiologist’s care. The medication
is very effective
and also short-acting. This means that you are awake and ready
to leave the
office within 20-30 minutes.
When is Aspiration an
option?
When a woman feels she has a high tolerance for pain, Aspiration
is an option.
Remember, here at DrEmily’s, if you choose Aspiration and
then change your
mind, or the pain becomes unbearable, an anesthesiologist is available
to keep
you comfortable. At DrEmily's we perform Aspiration only
to 11 weeks of
gestation.
Why is Aspiration so expensive?
Aspiration doesn't have to be expensive. At DrEmily's the
price for Aspiration
is the same as that for traditional abortion and abortion LITE.

pricing page and see for yourself.
Is insurance OK for
Aspiration?
DrEmily is happy to verify and accept your insurance for Aspiration.
